When Montezuma was drinking his “Nectar of the Gods”, a brew that combined cocoa beans with vanilla, honey, and chiles, he knew what he was doing. Just a bit of heat generated from those chiles will wake up your system with a gentle prod of warmth for your digestion and circulation.
Further south in the Andes, his Incan neighbors were imbibing maca, a superfood tuber that empowered their warriors with the strength of the Gods. Meanwhile, the Maya were roasting their ramón seeds and drinking this coffee-like beverage before the Spaniards ever brought coffee to the Americas.
Maca Chocolaté is an inspired beverage of the New World that combines traditional superfoods from the Incas, the Maya, and the Aztecs. Maca, ramon, cocoa and chilies will provide just the right amount of stimulation for a fully energized day.
Though we can’t guarantee that it will bestow longevity on you like it was reputed to do for the royal Aztec lineage, we can tell you that Montezuma and his Mayan and Incan neighbors knew how to create exciting flavor that is worthy of the Gods. Roasted coffee and chocolate notes from ramón seeds blended with maca, cacao, vanilla and chile ~ now this is truly an exalted beverage from the New World brought to you courtesy of Teeccino!
Ingredients: Roasted organic carob, organic barley, organic chicory, organic maca, organic ramón seeds, natural chocolate flavor, organic cocoa, organic chile flakes.
May contain trace amounts of almonds.

"Thought I’d try this for the maca health benefits and fell in love with the taste. Each cup reminds me of cocoa! Warm, deeply satisfying like being wrapped in a warm blanket on a cold winters night by the fire!!
Great Teeccino!! "

"This is by far my favorite flavor. I enjoy it with coconut milk. It is a bit dense, so I haven't figured out how to get a full cup using my k-cup adapter since the water seems to have a tough time getting through. So I am hoping to see this in a tea bag version. In the interim I will continue to enjoy it as a treat."

"I LOVE spicy food, but when my Teecino tasted weird, I didn't know it had chiles in the ingredients. I didn't like the flavor.
It would be good to with tortilla chips and spicy cheese dip or salsa but who drinks this with that, right?"

"So I found Teeccino when looking for healthy alternatives to coffee, a dear love of mine. I cannot rave about this stuff enough. It taste amazing and I've given samples to like 5 of my friends all of who loved it too. Not only can I not tell the difference between Teeccino and coffee, but the texture, aroma, and taste are all DELICIOUS! I highly recommend the chocolate flavored one if you like chocolate. It has just the right amount of spice to it. "

"I like this flavor. It doesn't have as strong a chocolate flavor as I might like, but that's pretty easy to remedy with additions to the cup. The one real drawback to this flavor for me is that it takes forever for the liquid brew to drain through the pour over filter into my cup. I'm not sure why this is and have noticed the same thing with the chocolate raspberry flavor, so I'm wondering if it has something to do with the oils used to flavor it. Nevertheless it is still a good product and I would srecommend it."

"I've tried this flavor several times, but recently it's become my favorite. The difference is that I used to mix my teecino with coffee and now I'm only doing teecino and this flavor gives me exactly what I'm lookinf for. I also like to mix this with French vanilla or caramel nut to change it up. Please don't ever discontinue this one! "

"I discovered Teeccino about five years ago, and have introduced many family and friends to this awesome coffee substitute. I appreciate the fuller body of Teeccino compared to herbal tea. I use French press to prepare the Teeccino, and add honey and baking chocolate to the final product -- great drink for winter! I am an American from Texas, but live and work internationally. Sometimes delivery has been a challenge, but Teeccino makes it!!"

"I am not a coffee drinker. I have never liked coffee. I drink tea until a few weeks ago when I was sick and my friend gave me a cup of teecino. It settle by stomach and perked me up for the rest of the day. I was energized and feeling great. Ever since then, Teccino Chocolate is what I drink first thing in the morning. "

"Having spent 5 years with no coffee at all. Being a heavy drinker, started having caffeine withdrawal. So gave up.
recently a good friend invited me some coffee and I rejected it knowing my condition... If I had one, guaranteed I was not going to sleep that night.
Instead, she explained the advantages of teeccino...
I was hooked since. The best option to coffee with no caffeine and a fantastic flavor..."

"Heavy coffee drinker, reached a point in which, if by 9am I haven´t had a coffee, started having this raging headache. Then I got my share and within minutes tarted trembling and had anxiety associated with caffeine withdrawal. Been ten years since with no coffee.
A friend gave me this particular brand and flavor to try. and I am hooked again to this wonderful spicy flavor. with no side effects whatsoever."

"I was a coffee drinker, so I went straight for the French Roast for my initial Teeccino trial. I was pleasently surprised and satisfied. Then, I became curious about the other flavors...
The Maya Chocolate French Roast is even better! The addition of cacoa enhances the coffee notes even more so than the French Roast! The flavor is deep and well rounded, but not harsh or biting at all. I brew mine stronger than suggested in a french press (use 1Tbs. per cup) It is delicious and very satisfying for the traditional coffee lover!
I've been over two weeks w/o coffee thanks to Teeccino French Roast and Chocolate French Roast. In love and super impressed!"

"This coffee was a big surprise! The chocolate was great but the bit of pepper highlights made it great! I drank it served it to my friends and gave them some. Now they have ordered it also. If you want a nice winter treat this is it!"

"I am a big fan of Teeccino's products, but felt it was important to note that the Chocolate flavor is much hotter than the description suggests. For people like me who made the switch due to digestive issues and the acidity of coffee, this might be one to try a sample of first, to make sure it agrees with you before investing in the full bag. I wish I had."

"I'm not only switching from coffee to Teeccino, but I'm also cutting back on sugar. So when I tried this flavor I realized I had a perfect solution for my chocolate cravings! I love the French Roast flavor in the morning and the Chocolate after lunch or dinner."

"One of the things I missed when I was told to cut caffeine out of my diet was warm chocolate drinks. Then I ordered the Maya Chocolate and felt like I hit a gold mine!
I love to drink it anytime. In the evenings, I might drop a small piece of 85% chocolate and use the frother (purchased from the Teeccino site)and whip a bit of half n half to top it off. It takes care of all my urges for something chocolatey, sweet, creamy, and the dark Maya flavor is very "coffee" tasting. One flavor hits all my spots!"

"Maya Chocolate Herbal Coffee is the only coffee substitute that satisfies me, the only one I can drink all by itself any time of day. In the mornings, I mix it with some of my regular coffee & have been able to cut my caffeine intake by half.
I have tried other coffee substitures & other Teecino flavors but Maya Chocolate is my absolute favorite."
By: Deacon Lang from Hershey, PA on February 18, 2012
"I love both the Maya Chocolate and the Carmel Nut. Since that's also the piece of candy that I pick from a box of chocolates, I'm going to try mixing these two Teeccino flavors together to see what I get! Can't wait!"

"I quite drinking coffee because of the negative effects on my digestive system. After a long search for a satisfying alternative, I discovered Teeccino. I tried most flavors and settled on the Maya Chocolate as my favorite. It is strong enough to get your attention, with the chilis giving it a nice bite. Nothing is as flavorful as a really nice espresso, but I am convinced that few other products come as close as Teeccino. I have experienced no digestive problems! Use a press for the most flavor."

"When ordering over the phone the salemen forgot to mention the Maya chocolate had chilli in it. The reason I only drink Teeccino is to protect my stomach. Needless to say, the coffee went into the garbage and I had wasted my money. However, if you do not mind the mild spice, you may well enjoy the chocolate background flavor. "

"My sister's naturopath recently suggested that my digestive problems were due to the acid in all that coffee I was drinking. After 35 years of being a self-professed "coffee achiever", I didn't think I could not give up my coffee. She suggested Teecino as a healthy alternative, a suggestion that has changed my life. The digestion issues went away, and promptly. Yes, the caffiene withdrawal is a mean beast, but so worth the battle. I highly recommend Teecino. It tastes so good and is so satisfying, you will be glad you switched."

"this herbal coffee is perfect. i was a die-hard coffee fan but finally realized that caffeine was responsible for making me feel nauseous, headachey, anxious, etc., on a daily basis. i've only had one cup of this, but i'm so glad to be able to use my french press again - and enjoy my coffee ritual without the miserable side effects. perfect with soy creamer, too. can't wait to try the other maya flavors.
p.s. thanks for making samples available! great idea - you won me over. :)"

The doctor told her she couldn't drink coffee anymore, so I searched the internet and came across Teeccino and I think I have bought all the flavors in this past year because she loves it so much and is so happy I found this. "Whenever I make my Mocha Teeccino for my mother, she comments on how good the coffee is. So I made it at a birthday party and got the toughest critic to ask about the coffee. Now I'll be giving her a bag for Christmas.
Thank you for a great "coffee.""

"When reading the reviews I was concerned about this flavor being spicy, but I still decided to buy a sample and see for myself. Since I drink my coffee with hot milk, the spicy flavor is kind of hidden. I love its chocolate flavor and I even enjoyed the hot tone to it. Great product!"

"OMG!!! If you are a "long-time no coffee drinking sufferer because of the caffiene content" like I am, then you must try Teeccino Chocolate dark roast herbal coffee!!! I know that was a mouth full, but I am so happy to be finally able to enjoy a delicious hot beverage that is not harmful to me. I can add honey, I can add cream, or just enjoy the velvety chocolate taste I've been missing for so long. Thanks Teecino! I'm ready to experience more!"

"Because of my severe IBS-D, I was very upset to find out I had to quite drinking my beloved coffee. However, I soon found out about Teechino and boy am I glad I did! I did it cold turkey. Notwithstanding the headache withdrawals, Teechino has been a godsend! While it does not taste exactly like coffee, it is delicious, full flavored and hot. It visually looks just like coffee. These things are important to me and have made my transition to a caffeine-free lifestyle. TRY THIS!!!! It is VERY much like coffee. I've used the "tea" bags and the brewed and both are delicious but I find the tea bags (not real tea, of course) are wonderful for traveling and on the go."

"I was going on a religious retreat for the weekend and knew that the majority of the group (ok everybody but me) was a coffee bunch, but that we could also have hot water for tea. So I swung by my local health food store on the way out to the camp ground and found teebags only of the maya chocolate which I had never had. But hey, chocolate is chocolate and procrastinators can't be choosers :) My first cup early saturday was a revelation! Nice and chocolatey as advertised, but with a very nice twist of spicy! Made me very much look forward to scripture talk/tea times during the weekend! Deeelish!! Ordered a 5 pounder to make it my regular morning companion. Thank you Teeccino for making such a tasty way to avoid a caffeine relapse weekend! "

"Been trying to find the perfect substitute for my morning coffee and I just found it. This tea was recommended by a wellness coordinator at the school in which I work. She said in order to drop pounds one thing I needed to do was get rid of the caffeine because it just throws your body out of weightloss mode into stress mode! Well, I have to say after drinking tons of coffee laden with sugary creamers I can honestly say as a former coffee lover, I feel better today than ever! This drink is awesome and I am hooked!"

"I never thought I'd find anything to replace that deeply satisfying, full-body taste of french roast coffee... I've been drinking it for years now. In an effort to eat more healthfully, I wanted to get caffeine out of my, and my husband's, diet. This Maya Chocolate Herbal Coffee is truly better than coffee. I make it in a french press pot, add hot whipped milk and a dash of cinnamon on top â€" delish! Bye-bye, caffeine... I won't miss you! :D"
