It wasn’t until I discovered ramón seeds from Central American rainforests that the dream of a dark roasted, unsweetened herbal coffee with enough body to carry coffee-like depth and intensity came into focus. The Maya drank a brewed beverage of roasted ramón seeds for all kinds of health reasons including their nutrient-density that made it a favorite drink of pregnant Mayan ladies. Please recall that this was prior to the Spaniards bringing the coffee tree across the Atlantic. You could call the Maya’s brew of roasted ramón seeds, the New World’s first coffee alternative!

If you like your coffee dark roasted without any competing flavor notes or sweetness, French Roast was created for you. In a choice between Teeccino’s regular flavors, Java, French Roast, and Dandelion Dark Roast, those coffee drinkers who like pure coffee flavor prefer dark roasted French Roast. Those who like a medium roast with just a bit of sweetness prefer Java. For those who are gluten sensitive or want to detox, Dandelion Dark Roast has a slightly more bitter note from dandelion root’s stimulating bitters. We offer these three versions of Teeccino because some people don’t want any sweetness in their cup while others want to cut down on sugar but still need that sweet uplift. Between French Roast, Java, and Dandelion Dark Roast, we hope Teeccino meets the taste preference of all those who say, “Give me regular!”.

  • 227 brewed 10 oz cups per 5 lb bag
  • All-purpose grind brews in any kind of coffee brewer including drip coffee makers, French press pots, Italian moka pots and espresso machines.
  • Use the refillable K-cup with Teeccino’s all-purpose grind for Keurig single serve brewers.
  • Drip Coffee Maker: Use 1 rounded Tbsp per 2 cups of water.
  • Filter Cone: Use 1 rounded Tbsp per 10 oz water.
  • French Press: Add 1-2 Tbsp to ‘3-cup’, 3-4 Tbsp to ‘8-cup’ pots. Steep for 3 minutes.
  • Espresso Machine: Use the double porta-filter and 102 rounded Tbsp. Brew according to machine instructions.
  • Iced Teeccino: Chill brewed Teeccino. Or make a strong brew using 2 Tbsp per 2 cups water and pour the hot brew over ice.
  • Adjust brewing strength and drink black or add creamer, milk, non-dairy milk and/or sweetener according to personal preference.

Makes 227 X 10 oz Cups

  • Adjust brewing strength to your own personal preference. If a brew tastes too strong, simply dilute it by adding hot water, milk or nondairy milk.
  • Brewed Teeccino can be reheated because its flavor doesn’t go stale like coffee does. Store brewed Teeccino in the refrigerator for up to a week.
  • Iced Teeccino is delicious too!

    I drink this every day!

    I drink this every day – usually two or even three times with a bit of cream. For variety, I add a teaspoon or two of Maya Organic Chai or Hazelnut. I brew it in a Technivorm-Mocchamaster Coffee Maker. It’s been a big help in reducing my intake of caffeine without feeling deprived of my favorite hot beverage – which used to be coffee. It has great flavor and doesn’t irritate me the way coffee’s acidic profile did. Thanks for concocting this great product!

    Best substitute for Coffee I’ve found

    The rich dark roast gives me all the satisfaction I used to get from coffee, without the sour stomach or caffeine jitters. I have just as much, if not more energy, and don’t have to worry about drinking it in the afternoon.

    I love this Maya Caffe. I have been on Weight Watchers and in the evenings I brew up some of this delicious herbal coffee in my expresso maker. It is so good, I don’t miss my nightly glass of wine!

    Off coffee and didn’t look back

    My ENT doctor said if I ever wanted to stop taking prevacid I would have to give up coffee. I figured I was going to die someday anyway, but life was too short to not enjoy my daily cup(s) of coffee. I love a good dark brewed coffee, drink it black, and have 2-3 cups a day.
    The Doc. said to try an herbal tea, which I’ve been trying to drink for years, but they don’t do the trick. Then in an online search for coffee substitutes I found Teeccino. I’ve tried the sample pack, the Java, and the Maya dark roast. The Maya comes the closest to my nice dark coffee flavor, the Java is nice too, and a bit more mellow. My first taste was questionable, but after two days all my doubts were gone. This was an excellent coffee substitute, and I can have more than 3 cups if I want, or drink it in the afternoon and still sleep at night.
    I seem to have more energy, without the jitters I got from caffiene, and I never get the sour stomach feeling that I got from too much coffee. I’m cutting down the prevacid to every other day, and hope to be completely off it by the end of the year.

    I have been drinking Teeccino for 5 years now – ever since I quit drinking coffee. The last couple years I have been drinking the Maya Dark Roast – It is so, so good. Please keep making this product. I recommend it to all I know who have to quit coffee…it is even better.

    I have been using Maya Caffe Herbal Coffee for the past 3-4 years. I love it. It suits my needs perfectly. I cut out caffeine completely and being an avid coffee drinker of a full pot a day, I thought it would be pretty impossible to give up. By combing the herbal with the real coffee and gradually decreasing the coffee, it was a breeze, didn’t notice it or miss it at all. So glad I found this. Thanks!

    I have loved Teeccino products since I first tried them 4 1/2 years ago and now I use the Maya Caffe Dark Roast and it’s hard to go back. I am so glad I was able to find a great product to replace coffee.
