
For years, I’ve held the belief that the best way to drink Teeccino is by making a freshly brewed cup using roasted, ground herbs. In the beginning, the challenge was to make Teeccino brew in any kind of coffee maker so coffee drinkers could keep their same brewing ritual. I launched our all-purpose grind in 1995.
Then I realized how great it would be to drink Teeccino anywhere on the go. My quest resulted in a machine that could produce a ‘fat’ tea bag to hold 6 grams of Teeccino. In 2011, we launched our line of Teeccino tea bags that make a strong, coffee-like tea meeting our expectations for a full-bodied, robust, bold cup.
Now, demands on our time have sped up. To my surprise, we need an even faster and more convenient way to enjoy a cup of Teeccino!

Lately, I’ve found myself forgetting the mug that I'd started steeping... or setting up a brew in a French press only to get interrupted and find it much later – completely cold. I even forget a cup I put in the microwave as I get pulled into something else while it’s heating up.
I love my Teeccino with milk—but how many times have I gotten to work without any milk or been in a hotel room desiring a creamy cup only to find a sugary, chemical-filled creamer in those little packets they provide? No way that’s going into my body.
Upending expectations for instant beverages

When Teeccino first entered the market in 1995, our only competitors were old-time “grain beverages” that you didn’t brew but just stirred a powder into a cup. Their taste was boring to my palate. I turned up my nose at instants preferring fresh brewed. Until now.
I discovered a game-changer. The quest to make an instant Teeccino that is not-our-grandmother's instant beverage, but one that produces a deep, robust cup with all the goodness of fresh-brewed Teeccino, led us to create something completely new!
The secret? Microground roasted herbs like dandelion root, ramón seeds, and date seeds blended with concentrated liquid extracts that have been dehydrated without any fillers or carriers. With the depth of body produced by the microground herbs dissolving seamlessly in hot water along with the water-soluble extracts, the blend delivers the deep, rich flavor we love and desire.
Black or creamy? Both!

Our goal: create instant Teeccino to meet the needs of both people who like it black and those who prefer their cup to be creamy. Matching instants to taste like brewed was the first challenge we overcame with the help of microground roasted herbs. Solving the problem of not having milk or creamer on hand is part of delivering instant Teeccino with everything in it to satisfy our desires.
Our research required tasting lots of creamers in the natural foods market – but eliminating those chemical-laden commercial creamers that have ingredients like dipotassium phosphate, mono- and diglycerides, and artificial flavors along with all sorts of sugars.

My requirements for a Teeccino creamer are organic, plant-based ingredients that are nutrient-dense and dissolve well in hot or cold water. Frankly, it’s a big challenge!
The natural food creamers we tasted are coconut milk-based and most aren’t organic. The brands that market them aren’t being completely transparent about what else is in the creamers like maltodextrin to help with solubility because powdered coconut milk is too oily to mix well in water. But most importantly, the coconut creamers taste too coconutty for my palate.
Smooth, creamy, good dissolvability and tasting like milk – that’s all we demand!
Enter oat milk. Gluten-free oat milk that is.
I have always loved oats – a superfood grain with a multitude of health benefits. Oats are full of soluble fiber rich in beta-glucans that is heart-healthy, prebiotic and helps lowers cholesterol. Oat fiber also slows down the absorption of carbohydrates helping to keep you feeling full longer. With antioxidants and lots of vitamin and minerals, oat milk is the perfect accompaniment to a cup of Teeccino.
Being the blending queen that I am, of course I had to add a bit of coconut milk to enhance the creaminess but not make it too coconutty. I also added MCT oil, derived from coconut oil, because it increases the mouthfeel of creaminess. Also, most importantly, it’s a good natural energy source for both the body and brain. It elevates Teeccino’s natural energy boost from nutrients. Finally, a touch of dried dates creates just enough sweetness for enjoyment without any sugar.
Rolling out Instant Teeccino
I’m excited to announce that our new instant Teeccino blends come in both black and latte style!
We're starting with four blends that cover the spectrum of Teeccino’s most-loved profiles—from bold and roasted to nutty and sweet:

As I write this, I’m sipping on a cup of Instant French Roast Latte which we just produced and packaged for the very first time — dark roasted, creamy, lightly sweet, and ridiculously easy to make.
Sometimes we need our rituals. And sometimes, we just need a delicious cup that takes 10 seconds and brings a little warmth, comfort and clarity back into our day. Or a tall cold glass full of iced Teeccino that we didn’t have to wait to cool down.
These new instant blends were made for those of us in a hurry. When we’re travelling, taking quick work breaks, juggling kids going to school while getting off to work, or craving a late night cup but too tired to brew —they’re for anyone who loves Teeccino but doesn’t always have time to make a cup.
And maybe, like me, you’ll find yourself reaching for them more often than you expected.
