Steep Like Tea

Steep the rich, roasted herbal tea

Whether you’re a devoted tea drinker or a Teeccino Herbal Coffee fanatic that needs a convenient way to brew while you’re travelling, these steeping tips will help you get the most enjoyment out of your cup of Teeccino!

It seems pretty simple to make a cup of tea with a tea bag, doesn’t it? Nevertheless, there are some things that make Teeccino tea bags different from other tea bags:

Shaking the envelope

It sounds funny but shaking the envelope before tearing is really important. Our large tea bags can shift around in the envelope and you might tear the paper if you don’t shake first. You’ll quickly find it becomes a habit and you won’t give it a second thought!

Water quality and temperature

Start with filtered water if it is available since chemicals like chlorine (which is added to most public water) can affect the taste. Use freshly boiled water to extract all the goodness from Teeccino’s herbs.

3X more herbs

Teeccino tea bags hold 6 grams of herbs compared to standard tea bags that hold 1 - 2 grams. Teeccino’s full-bodied flavor depends on this quantity of ingredients, but it makes our tea bags heavier especially when they’re wet. When removing them from your cup, strings can come loose. You can always support the tea bag with a spoon to prevent this from happening.

Extracting the most flavor out of your tea bag

We recommend gently dunking the tea bags a few times in freshly boiled water and leaving the tea bag in your cup for at least 3 minutes. In fact, there is no harm in leaving the tea bag in your mug while you sip – your Teeccino will not become more bitter; it will just become more flavourful!

Plastic-free & compostable tea bag paper

Unlike many tea bags from major tea companies, Teeccino’s tea bag paper is completely free of fossil fuel-derived plastic. The sealing fiber in the paper is made from a plant fiber that is renewable and biodegradable.

  • Hot Teeccino
  • Iced Teeccino
  • Cold brew
      1. When opening the envelope give a little shake at the top to move the tea bag to the bottom of the envelope (this ensures that the filter bag is below the tear point in the envelope).
      2. Pour 8oz of boiling water over the tea bag in a cup and steep for at least 3 minutes.
      3. Dunk the bag several times in the beginning for the best brew.
      4. Use 2 tea bags for a stronger brew or for a larger mug or tea pot.
      5. Add milk, non-dairy milk and sweetener as you prefer.
    • The key to making a delicious iced Teeccino that you can drink right away is to steep 2 tea bags using freshly boiled water in a heat proof container like a ceramic pitcher or Pyrex measuring cup.

      1. Let steep for a minimum of 5 minutes to allow the liquid to cool down and the flavor to strengthen.
      2. Sweeten the hot liquid with maple syrup, honey or a non-caloric sweetener.
      3. Fill a tall glass with ice. Add milk or non-dairy milk if desired before pouring it over ice.
      4. If you’ve got time, cooling the liquid in the fridge will prevent your iced Teeccino from becoming too watery. Even better, you can make a pitcher of Teeccino and keep it in the fridge for up to a week so it’s ready whenever you want it!
      1. Place tea bags in a pitcher and pour over 6 oz of filtered water for every tea bag.
      2. Cover the pitcher and store in the fridge overnight or for at least 12 hours.
      3. Remove the tea bags and store the brewed Teeccino in the fridge for up to a week.
