When the blood orange season comes around in our Santa Barbara Farmer’s Market, it is always so exciting to taste these gorgeous oranges again with their dramatic blood red color – or wine red as I prefer to think of it! They’re famed for showing up in the middle of winter to tide us over until Valencia oranges reappear again.

With their very juicy, sweet but slightly tart flavor, they color everything bright red. Except Teeccino that is…hard to turn our dark, brown liquid red ~ no matter what you add to it. But you can add the sweet, fresh citrus flavor of blood orange to accent Teeccino’s deep roasted body blended with organic orange peel and sweetened with dates and figs. A true juicy citrus delight whether enjoyed hot in winter or iced in summer.

  • When opening the envelope give a little shake at the top to move the tea bag to the bottom of the envelope. This makes sure the filter bag is below the tear-point in the envelope.
  • Pour 8 oz of boiling water over the tea bag in a cup and steep for 3-5 minutes.
  • Dunk the bag several times in the beginning for the best brew.
  • Use 2 tea bags for a stronger brew in a larger mug or tea pot.
  • Add milk, non-dairy milk and sweetener as you prefer.
  • Adjust brewing strength to your own personal preference. If a brew tastes too strong, simply dilute it by adding hot water, milk or nondairy milk.
  • Brewed Teeccino can be reheated because its flavor doesn’t go stale like coffee does. Store brewed Teeccino in the refrigerator for up to a week.
  • Iced Teeccino is delicious too!
