Children need their own holiday drinks so they can feel like they have something special too. Problem is, hot chocolate has so much sugar plus the stimulants, theobromine and caffeine, that it can put little ones over the top of their excitement threshold. Our suggestion is to let them enjoy some mintyness from traditional peppermint candy canes to sweeten a warm mug of Teeccino Chocolate Mint. For an extra delicious bit, dissolve a chocolate peppermint patty in the hot mug to boost the chocolate flavor!
Oh yes, adults can enjoy this winter warm-up drink too with a shot of peppermint schnapps and a splash of creme de cacao. Nothing like this minty mug after getting chilled from wintry weather. Yum!

Ingredients

Non alcoholic version:

  • 1 pot of brewed [Chocolate Mint Chicory Herbal Coffee] (or certified gluten-free Dandelion Mocha Mint)
  • 12 oz milk or non-dairy alternative
  • 4 peppermint sticks or candy canes
  • 4 chocolate peppermint patties (optional)

Libation:

  • 2 oz peppermint schnapps or creme de menthe
  • Whipped cream (optional)

  1. Fill 4 mugs ⅔ full with brewed Teeccino.
  2. Heat the milk and froth the hot milk with a handheld milk frother.
  3. Add 3 oz of hot milk to each cup and top with frothed milk.
  4. Insert the peppermint stick and a peppermint patty.
  5. Optional: Top with whipped cream
  6. Optional libation version: Add 1 oz schnapps and 1/2 oz creme de cacao to each cup if desired.
